Honored & Humbled, Part 2

By February 13, 2012October 28th, 2015Creativity, Gratitude

Up until recently, I’ve never had a reason to write “Part 2” on any of my posts. Tonight I have the honor of being recognized and nominated again for 6 Months to Live. Thank you so much to The Phoenixplains and Love Out Loud for nominating me for both the Versatile Blogger Award and the Liebster Award.   You are both incredible bloggers, and I’ve enjoyed reading your stories. I truly appreciate these awards and am humbled and grateful for your continued support.

Thank you!

Liebster Blog Award. The award is given to a blog with less than 200 followers that deserves a little more recognition (thanks to all of you, I have more than 200 followers now, but I still wanted to recognize and honor this award). There are a few simple rules that go along with the award:

1. Give a shout out to the blogger who nominated you by linking back to their blog. Thank you, Kate!
2. Nominate 5 other blogs with less than 200 followers.
3. Spread the good blog karma.
Lastly, don’t forget to add the Liebster blog award image to your post.

5 blogs I draw inspiration from (in no particular order):

  1. The Next Stop: Musings of a Third Culture Kid
  2. Growing in Africa
  3. Red Pants and a Mustache: Exploring Coffee Shops in Stockholm
  4. Hot Chocolate and Books: My views on anything and everything with some of my book reviews in the mix up:)
  5. Day by Day the Farm Girl Way: Simple Life on a Little Piece of Land

And the rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are:

Thank You!

  • Nominate 15 fellow bloggers.
  • Inform the bloggers of their nomination.
  • Share 7 random things about yourself.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Add the Versatile Blogger Award pic on your blog post.

7 Random Things about Me:

We can make the world a better place

  • Thank you so much and congratulations on your awards! It’s so nice to have connected with so many new people through blogging. It’s something I wasn’t expecting but it’s quickly become my favourite thing. I can’t wait to check out the others on your list.

    • Jacqueline says:

I agree! Blogging has definitely opened up a completely new world, and I’ve so enjoyed all the people I’ve been able to ‘meet’ and interact with—it’s the best part!

  • Emily He says:

Congratulations for the well-deserved awards! And thank you for nominating me for one 🙂

  • Congrats, my friend. You deserve many, many fine awards.

I’m honored, Jacqueline. Thank you so much! I love your blog, as well.

    Hugs,
    Kathy

  • CeCe says:

Congrats on all your awards. Well deserved!

You can opt for a 52 page passport? I still have 4 years left on mine, and I only have enough pages to get me through my China and Philippines trip!

    • Jacqueline says:

Thanks CeCe! I just realized I didn’t respond to your comment earlier–sorry! Yes, you can. I just found that out when I renewed. I highly recommend the 52-page passport, plus it doesn’t cost extra. 😉 When are you headed to China and the Philippines? You can also get pages added. I had to do that with my last passport.

  • Margie says:

Congrats Jacqueline and thanks for thinking of me! I appreciate it! Margie

  • Elena says:

    Dear Jacqueline!

Thank you so much for nominating me and introducing me to some new blogs that I haven’t read before.. as a result I’m already following someone.

I can’t believe that such a newbie at blogging like me, gets nominated about 4 times in the past month, after only wrote 20 posts. I’m not good with all the awards thing, but the fact that you read me and think these notes of a nutty lady are worth being shared with others is the best award for me, really! : )

I have your blog on my links for the world to see, so this is my “thank you” for being so amazing, inspiring and unique.

    love,

    el xo

    • Jacqueline says:

That’s great to hear, EL! I have been blessed to ‘meet’ so many amazing people through this blog and approach to life. Very grateful! I can’t believe that you’re a newbie to blogging. You have such a compelling following and so much to say! How long have you been blogging?

I was deeply honored when you put the link to my blog on your links. I can tell from your posts and your way in the world that you are a genuine and authentic person, which radiates from your blog–it’s no surprise you have such a following so quickly. Thanks as well for all the encouragement and inspiration–means more to me than you know!

      • Elena says:

I’ve been on wordpress for about 3 1/2 months. The most popular search that brings people to my blog is my name.

Still trying to get used to the edit process .. i tend to mess my posts up all the time ..

        gosh, such a newbie : ))

        • Jacqueline says:

Wow! That’s impressive—-both that you’ve only been on for 3.5 months and that people look for you by name. You’re Kinda-of-a-big-deal for sure! 😉

And, I still mess up my posts sometimes. The preview function is especially helpful and I very often use the edit function, even after posting!

          • Elena says:

haha , i’m not, i’m just a little me .. : ) you know, when I get out into nature ; mountains, the sky full of stars, ocean, deserts, forests .. I truly see, just how small and unimportant i am : ) a very humbling experience actually.. and our leaders of today .. should put that on the to do list on their busy schedules.. ; )

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who gets everything messed up.. really it’s so frustrating sometimes! I’m really not good with technology .. but so much better with nature ..

          • Jacqueline says:

Ah yes, I’m a tree hugger as well. There is nothing in the world like realizing the vastness of the universe. I have a feeling you will appreciate this: http://htwins.net/scale2/

      • Elena says:

By the way.. just wanted to add the following —

holy smokes ! Some of your 7 things about you are incredible !!

ps- I really want to visit Bhutan as well … guess who inspired me to do that? ; )

      • Elena says:

Wow!! I loved it!! Thank you so much for sharing this with me! After looking at everything I just let myself fly into it and out of it : )

We are so unimportant : ))

        4 & 7 …

Answer to last question — You ; )

That video totally got me, seriously, I really want to take a year or so off and just travel non stop.. and believe me Bhutan is a priority now and Nepal. And would like to step on the remaining 3 continents during that time as well.

      • Jacqueline says:

Yay! That’s awesome–a year of non-stop traveling would be lovely. And Bhutan is at the top of my list! I was supposed to go to Nepal October of 2010 and long story, short, it fell through. I was bummed. 🙁 I ended up in Goa instead, but I definitely plan on going back. There is so much to see!

I learned Spanish in school and then lived abroad in Spain. I also lived in China for 3 years, so I learned Mandarin while I was there. As for the banjo, I absolutely LOVE it. I spent most of Saturday in the park writing and then recording (rough version on Garbage Band) my newest song, “Bluest Eyes.” Very excited about it! Just need to wrap up the work on the other 6 or so I’m working on, find some other musicians, and I’ll be ready to record my first CD! 😉

What are the 3 remaining continents you have to see? I still have to see Africa and Antarctica.

  • Wow! First, congratulations on the well-deserved awards! I am always very happy when I see in my inbox that there is a new post on your blog and I am glad to see that I am not the only one feeling that way 😉
Second, thank you so much for nominating me for the Liebster Blog Award. This is so unexpected, to say the least. There are so many amazing blogs out there, I feel very honored and humbled too.
Finally, thank you for sharing some more amazing blogs you enjoy. I’m sure I will like them too,

    • Jacqueline says:

Thank you! That’s so great to hear. (p.s. sorry for the delay in responding to you, I thought I already had, but I think that was on your actual website).

Sure thing! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog, and there are definitely some great bloggers mentioned here. Enjoy reading more about their adventures! 🙂

  • Currie Rose says:

Hey, thank you! I want to do this. I have a question though. How do you highlight the text so it is clickable to bring you to the website without having to put the web address in the actual post?

  • Luca Ricci says:

I want to repeat my thanks here for mentioning my blog! Grazie
    Luca

  • Audrey Chin says:

HI Jacqueline. Just getting caught up on social media now after months of travelling. Thanks for the list of websites you recommended. I really liked them.

  • Congradulations Jacqueline! I stumpled on your blog today because I was looking for ideas on how to write good blogs. I really liked your “7 Random Things about me”, because my wife and I love to travel around the world too! I moved to China with my family after living in the states since 1989, and funded a company to work on an app to create a social video sharing app for music lovers.

Your blog has given me much inpiration, thank you!
