Start Where You Are

My all-time favorite quote is “No matter how difficult the past, you can always begin again today.” It reminds me that each day is an opportunity, and if you let it, today can be the first day of the rest of your life!

My birthday is fast approaching, and before each new age, I take stock of the year before and reflect on what I’ve learned and done.

I accomplished many of my goals and dreams this past year, but there are also ones I did not. I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t carry sadness around the dreams still unfulfilled, but it’s only a heartbreak if we give up on our true hearts’ desires. And it’s never too late!

no matter how difficult the past

I’ve been around the sun enough times to know that life always gives you another chance to do what’s in your heart. You just have to see and receive.

My absolute favorite part of the work I do is giving people space to share their dreams, no matter how far-fetched or dusty, and then creating an action plan to make it a reality.

It’s an incredible feeling to watch someone go from timidly sharing their blog or business idea to reaching 7,000 visits in their first 7 weeks or to watch someone honor their value by tripling their prices. It’s phenomenal to see someone emerge from 10 years of confusion, desperately wanting to run their own business to watching them launch their business 4 months after the Mastermind began. Not only did she create a business that allowed her to spend more time with her kids, she also took a trip to Europe to celebrate her father’s 70th birthday with her family, a luxury not afforded in her previous 9-5 job.

Maybe there’s a dream inside you–one that’s very much alive or one that’s been dormant for years. Maybe you’re carrying around sadness or shame for not having pursued that dream or for giving up on it too soon.

If there’s 1 thing I’ve learned from this past year, both in my business and what I’ve seen with my clients, it’s that community makes all the difference. It’s perhaps the scariest thing we can do, letting people into our dreams because they’re so personal.

And it can be even more unnerving to share with others when we don’t feel like we have it all together or figured out (where did that myth come from anyway?), but in opening our hearts and supporting one another, we can do great things!

Ask yourself:

  1. How would my life look if I fulfilled my dream(s)?
  2. What makes me come alive and what brings out the best in me?
  3. Am I willing to go one more day, month, year with this dream still inside me? Am I willing to die with this dream unfulfilled?

Remember you have only failed if you give up. All journeys are made of single steps.

No matter how difficult your past, today is a new day. Open your heart, let go of the past, and take the first step towards the rest of your life. You never know where you may finish…

Very motivational piece Jacqueline. Start Where You Are is some very sage advice and seeing people realize their dreams on a regular basis must be extremely rewarding. Good luck and all the best.
