December 1st marked a momentous initiation and (r)evolution in living! All are welcome.
The root of the word “revolution” originated in the 14th century, pertaining to “celestial bodies.” It is also defined as an “instance of great change in affairs.” The word “evolution” stems from the 1620’s as an “opening of what was rolled up.” I’ve combined the two for a distinct purpose.
I believe in synchronicity, so if you’re reading this, it’s for a purpose. You’re at a choice point. Maybe it’s in your work, business, relationship, family dynamic, health, or something else. But you’re here because a small, medium, or overwhelming piece of you is hungry to evolve. You want revolt. You want “an instance of great change in affairs and an opening of what was rolled up.”
And I’m with you!
The origins of “6 Months to Live” began as a Life Experiment. What could I do in 6 months? I’ve often written and spoken about this, but I love life experiments because they’re easier to implement than a “LIFE CHANGE!” They’re also more curious in nature. They allow more flexibility. There are no right and wrong rules.
What if… is one of the most powerful questions on the planet!
My entire life I’ve been fascinated by all the ways people choose to live. It’s one of the fundamental reasons I love travel. It reminds me that there are multiple ways to do everything. Life is a choice, bound together by a series of smaller choices. Here’s the best part: we can always choose again!
So without further ado, I’m officially launching your, my, and our “6 Month Experiment!” You can learn more about the experiment in the video below as well as the original experiment HERE.

What will you create?
The experiment goes from December 1, 2013-June 1, 2014, and you are welcome to join in at any time for the duration or for your own 6-month experiment. This experiment is about all of us coming together from all over the world to use the next 6 months towards our own (r)evolutions. What is in your heart? What do you really want in your life? What could you in 6 months?
If you’re unsure of what you really want, check out the Vision Course.
This experiment can be whatever you want it to be. Maybe you want to make big changes. Maybe small ones. Maybe you want to travel. Maybe you want to stay home. Whatever is meaningful to you.*
What will I create?
I’m going to use the next 6 months as an experiment in being visible and allowing myself to shine and share my gifts on a massive scale. My first book, Heart Language, will be coming out in 2014, and I’m currently finding a way to take the 2nd season of the show to a network or prominent web platform (stay tuned!). Even writing that I feel a little embarrassed. Who am I to shine? But in the words of Marianne Williamson:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.”
The truth is we’re all here for a purpose. And that purpose is pretty simple: be you; share your gifts!
Stepping out in such a BIG way can feel exposing, but I know in my heart, it’s the next step for me, the blog, and most importantly, this movement that we’re creating together!
What will we create?
In what way will you be stepping out? How will you shine? What could you do in 6 months? Track your experiences on social media, through videos, blog posts, whatever feels good to you and use the hashtag: #6moexperiment, so everyone can cheer you on! You can also join this Facebook group to make new friends, receive support, and atta girls/boys!
Let’s live!
Totally cheering you on, Jacqueline!!
Thanks Kola! Cheering you on too! 🙂
Hi Jacqueline,
First time visiting. I was sent over here by Lindsey Dubois because she mentioned how inspiring your blog is. I really like your platform and what you have set out to do. Your ideas are positive and enriching and thought-provoking. Living for today is such a simple thing, yet it can be really difficult for some people.
Wishing you the best of luck in your endeavors!
Kate
Hi Kate! Lovely to meet you and thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. 🙂 Love Lindsey! She’s lived quite the life thus far, and I can’t wait to see what she creates in 2014! I’ve learned that much of life is simple. We (myself included at times) just tend to overcomplicate it. The beauty of life is that everyday is a new opportunity and a fresh start to begin again!
Thanks again for visiting and look forward to see your thoughtful & heartwarming comments in the future, Kate! 🙂
This is awesome! LOVE.
Thanks Priya! So happy that you’re joining us! 🙂
